When trouble strikes, we can sometimes forget our knowledge of God. We can struggle to recall past answers to prayer, we can forget how we have had specific guidance provided by the Holy Spirit, and we can fail to recall the lessons learned in previous crises. Only the present seems real as the past seems like a forgotten dream. Our minds spin with future implications, and our troubled emotions prohibit clear thinking. We must fix our attention on Jesus and seek to understand why He wants us to learn to lean on Him through life’s dark moments.
