Paul is encouraging Christians in Colossae that once they receive Christ Jesus as Lord that they are to continue to live their lives in him. The Christian life is a journey and Paul is encouraging us to continue to live our lives like we received Christ – in faith. Our faith in Christ must be growing, it is not stagnant, we start with faith we continue with faith. It implies a daily, steady, step-by-step effort and progress toward a goal. When I am rooted in Christ I am growing in Prayer.
