Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 | Preacher: Donnie Case | Series: Called | The cross of Christ raised issues for both Jews and Greeks (Gentiles) in Corinth, a Greek city with a substantial Jewish population. The cross of Christ seemed as weakness to the Jews who expected a powerful Messiah to overthrow the Romans, and foolishness to the Greeks who placed a high value on human wisdom. The cross, however, has become the symbol of Christianity today. We are called to preach the good news of the Gospel of Salvation brought by Jesus through his death on the cross and His resurrection.
