Tenebrae is a somber and solemn service where the focus is on the death and burial of Christ. It is observed on “Good Friday”, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. While Resurrection Sunday (Easter) is celebrated with joy in the light of morning to remind us of our Savior’s resurrection, Tenebrae is observed in darkness and solemnity, to remember the death and burial of Christ.
